Some stuff from my childhood has held up over time. For example, using flash cards to memorize material now has been shown via experiments to be highly effective. On the other hand, looking over your notes is simply a waste of time. In the words of one researcher, “it creates the illusion of mastery.” So first, make the flashcards!  If you are taking the ACT on June 11, we have some ready-made. Drop us a line. Here’s an example of something from my childhood that, like leaded gas, disco and menthol cigarettes, has not held up! It’s a wonder we are still alive!
