A Look at Our Own Backyard

We want to send a big thank you to the National Cathedral School for inviting Eagle Eye Tutoring to meet with its 10th grade geography class! We loved being able to share with you the history of the land that makes up the Cathedral Close and nearby Tenleytown and Glover Park. Knowing how that land fit into the changing economies of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries is key to understanding the reality of our city today. Also, recognizing the role that slavery played in the region and in our own backyards is essential to healing the wounds of the past. Click here for a Google Earth presentation on the land surrounding the Cathedral Close.
